Convention Delegates,

At the October meeting of the Washtenaw County Executive Committee the members of the committee voted to approve the forming of an ad hoc "Nominating Committee". The members of the nomination committee where thereby appointed by the Chairman of the Executive Committee. The committee was tasked with evaluating the submissions of those that registered to be considered for election to the Executive Committee for the new term.

The following is the result of their deliberation.

To the delegates of the December County Convention:

In making recommendations for the 2018-2020 Washtenaw County Republican Executive Committee – a straight forward review of candidates and past accomplishments has been completed. In an effort to advance the county party the following classification is offered:

The Washtenaw County Executive Committee Candidates “Highly Qualified” rating.

The following Executive Committee Candidates included below, have various special qualifications and/or have shown extensive efforts in advancing the County Republican party, Republican candidates, and Republican goals. Electing these individuals would be most advantageous in advancing Republican ideals in the county. This is no way is meant to minimize the efforts of other candidates who are clearly deeply concerned with Republican County goals.

The “Highly Qualified” rating includes one or more of the following characteristics:

1) Highest levels of Volunteerism, to advance Republican ideals, including campaigns, events, door knocking, phone banking, committee time etc.

2) Highest Leadership levels on past Executive Committees – to maintain 'Institutional knowledge base' and keep various long term projects moving forward.

3) Special high level skill sets – including media, finance, strategic, or political knowledge base.

4) Special County experience – previous candidacies or office holder, significant campaign experience.

Exceptions: In addition, the Washtenaw County Republican Committee has a clear bylaw regarding attendance to monthly committee meeting, certain members who were unable to maintain regular attendance for whatever reason, and did not uphold this bylaw, have been excluded from this list.
