To everyone taking action regarding the County Commission resolutions on immigration. The resolutions have been amended and a copy is attached. According to the author,
The major changes include:
* Moving actionable language from the nonsolicitation policy to the BIR's of the resolution creating the policy;
* Constraining the policy language referencing the Sheriff's department;
* Changing the language regarding County facilities away from compelling law enforcement agencies to actively identify themselves on the County campus to requiring them to respond to staff requests for identification;
* Reducing the appropriation by $15,000 to $135,200 and moving money around: 1) eliminating the funding to the Washtenaw ID project and to communications activities and 2) increasing the funding for legal aid from $60,000 to $75,000.

They have reduced the spending amount total, but increased the funding for direct legal assistance to illegal immigrants. Your tax dollars at work.
