Subject: County Taxpayers supporting Illegal Immigrants?
Date: May 3rd 2017
Friends,

This is a follow up of an email that was sent out by our committee Vice-Chair Bill Gordon. This is regarding resolutions that the county board will be considering Supporting Illegal Immigration with our tax dollars. Attached is the full set of resolutions that will be considered tonight at the County Board meeting.

It has been reported that some commissioners are claiming that they're only receiving positive support for these proposed actions. I encourage you to call or email these commissioners immediately and let them know that you oppose this blatant disregard for the laws of this nation and the oaths each of these commissioners took to uphold the Constitution. Attending the board meeting in person is also highly recommended.

Below please find information for the board meeting from William Gordon's previous email along with the commissioners contact information. I have also included below the copy of a very good letter that was sent to the board by one of our members Phyllis Risdon.

Remember though what's important is that they hear from us, if you don't have time to compose a nice letter simply state that "You oppose the immigration resolutions being considered".

Email, Call and attend the meeting if you can!

From William Gordon:

Now for action -

Feel free to share this email with those who have an interest in this outcome. We may not stop it, but we may have a fighting chance to stop the appropriation of funds if enough people show up to speak against the resolution(s) at the next meeting.

May 3, 2017 6:30pm (be early, the room will be packed) at 201 N. Main, Ann Arbor. The County Administration building.

You will have about 3 minutes each to speak, so make your feelings known direct and to the point in a respectful but sincere way. Even simply standing and saying "My name is x, I am a resident of Washtenaw County and I oppose these immigration resolutions" will be meaningful.

You can speak to any of the resolutions, but I recommend we focus in on the use of tax payer dollars to expand services for illegal immigrants. Despite the liberal terminology, there is nothing in the language that forbids use of the money for illegal immigrants.

You can be assured that now that this is public, there will be a large contingent of open borders people there to speak in favor of the action.

Let's break the liberal gov't. echo chamber and make sure the Commission knows how you feel.

From Phyllis Risdon:

Dear Mr. Martinez-Kratzk

I recently served as a Grand Juror for the United States District Court of Eastern Michigan and I learned much about Federal immigration law during my months of service. I have become aware of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioner's recent attempt to pass a package of resolutions to provide taxpayer dollars in the name of providing legal services for illegal aliens currently residing in our county. Could this be considered Aiding and Abetting a federal crime? How can you, who took an oath (similar to the oath taken by my daughter who is currently serving in the United States Air Force) to support the Constitution of the United States of America, in good conscience break the law of our Federal government? If your oath of office means nothing to you, then I suggest you stand down from your position.

My tax dollars should NOT be used to provide legal help to those persons who are illegally in Washtenaw County.  If you vote these resolutions into place, could you, as my elected representative, also be making me complicit in the aiding and abetting of illegal persons? Think about that....

These policies are an affront to persons who followed our United States immigration system's route and are here legally.
You were voted into office by, and represent, LEGAL citizens and not non-citizens...illegal or otherwise.

I am opposed to these resolutions!

Phyllis Risdon
Dexter Township Precinct Delegate
